Charitable Team Building options for winter

Yes, it's getting chilly out, finally... winter may actually be on the way, after an amazing stretch of summer weather. Eight days, according to the weather report this morning. Eighty days of meteorologically-correct summer weather in a row.

But just because the long stretch of warm, sunny days will soon be behind us, it doesn't mean your team building options have closed down. In fact, they're even better.

Because once it gets chilly or rainy outside for us, it helps us remember who has it even chillier and rainier... the people who need help.

And your team can help them, as you help yourselves become a better team.

Here's three great "CSR" (corporate social responsibility) ideas for helping others while building a better team:

Freewheel - Our most popular charitable event! Teams compete against teams in high-energy smile-inducing games to collect the tools and parts needed to assemble a brand-new bicycle for needy children who have never before had one of their own. At the end (Shh! this part's secret), we bring in the kids for a poignant team-meets-child surprise.

Operation Care Kit - Your team overcomes zany military-style challenges that build communication and camaraderie while they earn and assemble the necessary elements for constructing a "care kit" for oft-forgotten men and women serving our country overseas.

Play it Forward - Teams embark on a scavenger-hunt style game in the city to raise funds and awareness for three deserving charities. The more you raise, the more points for your team, and the better for everyone!

Freewheel and Operation Care Kit are "mobile" games, meaning that we bring the game to your location (conference center, hotel, company HQ). Play it Forward is location-specific and occurs downtown.
