Lessons in Team Building: Putting the "I" in "Team"
There is an old saying in teamwork: "There is no "I" in team."
But there is an "I" in "Win."
Taken together we have one simple truth: Teams succeed when members work together to maximize the contributions of each individual.
My team cannot win if "I" do not do everything I can to make victory possible.
Notice also: There is no "I" in "Lose." But there is in "Fail."
Which reminds us of the other old adage: Success has many fathers; failure is an orphan.
Failure has just as many fathers as does success... maybe more. If my team fails, I fail. If my team wins, I win.
Is your team succeeding, or failing?
And what's your contribution?
