Who's your backup?

Great teams aren't just about having a great star player, or even a talented first string.

Great teams have backups waiting in the wings, trained and ready.

If something happens to your first string, who will step up? Are they ready?

Consider the Indianapolis Colts, recent champions of the National Football League and considered by many to be automatic contenders for post-season action.

Star quarterback Peyton Manning went down to injury. Backup Kerry Collins had never once led the team onto the field, never once took the snap from center.

Result? The team lost all three of his starts. They've lost the next two with his replacement, Curtis Painter. Now winless in five games, to say the Colts are long shots to win the Super Bowl would be the height of understatement.

Is your team ready for that inevitable moment when your star player is out due to injury, illness, vacation, or the dreaded "moved on to pursue other opportunities?"

What are you doing to get your team ready for that?

By the way, how IS your teamwork?
